RelaDyne Responds to DuraMAX Global ATF PQIA Results

Global ATF Case

On July 30, 2018, Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) released test results on seven Automatic Transmission Fluids (ATFs) in the industry. Three of the products sampled had inconsistencies with their labeled claims, DuraMAX Global Full Synthetic ATF was one of those products.

RelaDyne uses three authorized manufacturers to package DuraMAX Global Full Synthetic ATF. In doing so, we rely on these manufacturers to utilize proper and current labels approved by RelaDyne that reflect the recommended claims they have provided to us.

In June 2015, RelaDyne approved a verbiage update to DuraMAX Global Full Synthetic ATF labels for proactive compliance in market today (see Updated 2015 label below). It has come to our attention that one of our manufacturers recently used an outdated label for an order of cases, causing erroneously-labeled DuraMAX ATF to enter the marketplace. The mislabeled product is the product pulled for sampling in the PQIA report.

The Updated 2015 and Current Labels of DuraMAX Global Full Synthetic ATF are consistent with the results displayed from PQIA.

RelaDyne takes the quality and integrity of our products very seriously, ensuring that our products carry the highest industry specifications and licensing available. Upon discovering the label error, we have destroyed all improperly-labeled ATF product in the affected Distribution Center (Farmerville, LA) and have discontinued our relationship with the manufacturer. In addition, we are planning a full audit of all packaging facilities, similar to our current Bulk Audit Program.

As a DuraMAX customer, if you have any Pre-2015 labeled product or any questions, please email your RelaDyne Sales Representative or [email protected].
