Mid-Town Petroleum, part of the northern RelaDyne network, was one of four well-established businesses that merged to form RelaDyne in November 2010. Started in 1954 by Ray Battersby, Mid-Town provides high-quality products and services to the automotive, commercial, and industrial markets in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and eastern Iowa.
Built on a solid infrastructure, the company has an established customer base, strategic supply agreements, industry-leading technology, and a long history of creating lasting value for its customers. In August 2013, the RelaDyne Chicago branch moved its main office location to a larger state-of-the-art facility better equipped to serve RelaDyne’s growing Custom Blending capabilities. The new office location also allows for more efficient Diesel Exhaust Fluid deliveries, with rail access at the back door.
Former company President, Jeff Hart, will continue building alliances and partnerships for Mid-Town as he simultaneously leads RelaDyne’s business development initiatives.
Palatine Oil Company
In June 2015, RelaDyne acquired Palatine Oil Company (“POC”) of Illinois. POC is one of Chicagoland’s largest LTL (Less than Truckload) fuel marketers and has been servicing the market as a fuel and lubricant distributor for more than 40 years. POC employees now operate out of the Elk Grove Village location of the RelaDyne Great Lakes region.
The entire sales and operations team have stayed with RelaDyne to ensure continuity for customers, employees and suppliers. “We are excited to become part of the RelaDyne family. The combination of these two great companies will give our customers and employees more opportunities than they had before. I am truly looking forward to being on the winning team while providing industry leading products and services to our loyal customers,” notes Newlin.
At Mid-Town Petroleum, we have always been the company that does what we say we will do. In joining RelaDyne, our core principles will not change. What will change is our capacity to deliver to our customers solutions that will make them more profitable.Jeff Hart, Former President
