The Petroleum Quality Institute of America (PQIA) is pleased to announce RelaDyne has joined PQIA’s growing list of lubricant manufacturers, marketers, additive suppliers, and other supporters working to help assure the quality and integrity of motor oils, transmission fluids, and other lubricants in the market.
RelaDyne, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, is one of the nation’s leading providers of lubricants, fuel, diesel exhaust fluid (DEF), and industrial reliability services. The company was established in 2010 when four well-established, industry-leading lubricant distribution and related services companies joined to create a strategy to transform how to solve specific unmet customer needs to improve the return on assets of their machines, trucks and vehicles.
Larry Stoddard President and Chief Executive Officer of RelaDyne says, “We welcome the opportunity to support PQIA’s efforts to help assure the quality of lubricants in the market. RelaDyne believes in the principles and professional standards that PQIA instills and represents as it relates to lubricants being sold to end market consumers.”
Thomas F. Glenn, president of the Petroleum Quality Institute of America says, “We appreciate RelaDyne’s support and commitment to quality. While it is clear we still face serious challenges to protect consumers from poor quality off-spec engine oils and other lubricants in the market, we are making progress. And, it is with the help of RelaDyne and our other supporters that PQIA is able to continue its work to help clean up the market and protect consumers.”
To date, PQIA has identified over 20 different brands of packaged motor oils and AFTs on retail shelves that can cause damage to car engines or transmissions. In addition, dozens more brands have been found that fail a claimed specification or are labeled with false or misleading claims.
About PQIA
PQIA’s mission is to serve the consumer of lubricants by testing and reporting on the quality and integrity of lubricants in the marketplace. It is expected that this improved visibility of quality will lead to wider conformance by lubricant manufacturers to specification and performance claims. www.pqiamerica.com
